Fans have been begging for a reissue of the vintage Imperial Shuttle for years, and they got one, right down to the original vintage sized foot pegs. The decoration was incredible, and very few vehicles have had quite the level of dirt and grime that Hasbro gave the rerelease of the Imperial Shuttle. While misinformation about release dates, quantities, and just who got it as an exclusive plagued its release, what fans will remember down the road is that Hasbro made a giant, wonderful vehicle available to the masses once again.
Runner Up: Hailfire Droid
Few new sculpt vehicles came out in 2003, but one of the real highlights was also a real surprise. The Hailfire Droid is a nice, large, durable vehicle with a great sculpt, and the appeal is probably limited squarely to collectors. Sure, it isn’t compatible with figures. It’s big, though, and has a fairly interesting feel that probably won’t be replicated until Hasbro makes a brand new vehicle again. So maybe in 2005.
