Without a doubt, the figure that really shows that Hasbro knows what they’re doing the most in 2003 was this one. The sculpt was right on the money, and the huge quantity of added articulation made this one of the hottest figures in quite some time. This is one of very few figures released in 2003 that probably had less than a ten-minute shelf life, and fans the world over are crossing their fingers in hopes that Hasbro ships more. And after that, maybe Hasbro can ship them in different colors.
Runner Up: Boba Fett (Pit of Carkoon)
Next up was another clone of Jango Fett, the always popular Boba. One of very few figures in Star Wars to sport two knee joints on one leg, he’s capable of quite a few great poses but still doesn’t quite achieve “ultimate” status for a few reasons. He’s a vibrant, nicely jointed figure that has a nice accessory, and with his cult status as a fan favorite, he’s our runner-up for the best figure of 2003.
