In the United States, and most of the world, the exclusives have always been a thorn in the sides of many a collector. Be it for price, availability, or some other reason it's always been hard to find exactly what we want, but somehow Toys "R" Us really managed to make things easy for us this year. Its offerings included an AT-ST & Speederbike set, an X-Wing Fighter, a Landspeeder, a 25th Anniversary R2-D2, and 12" Luke Skywalker on a Taun Taun. And several of these are still easy to find... which may not be ideal for Toys "R" Us' bottom line, but it's great for those who can't go to the store every day.
Runner Up: Target
While they didn't have as much to offer as Toys "R" Us, they did do fairly well with what they did release in 2002. Their Accessory Packs continue to ship today to most of their stores, and their Action Fleet packs ended up being clearanced out at the end of 2002. While it may require more than one visit to find everything, Target did make certain we could get what we wanted if we at least tried.
