Priced out of most fan's pocketbooks was the biggest LEGO set ever. This wasn't just the biggest Star Wars set, but the biggest box of plastic bricks the Danish toymaker has ever unleashed upon the world. Truly designed as a toy to impress, this will undoubtedly remain a flagship piece in any toy collection as the largest and most expensive Star Wars toy made available to the general public, ever. Down the road, this will probably be remembered along with GI Joe's USS FLAGG, or TransFormers' Fortress Maximus as a true toy collecting icon.
Runner Up: Bounty Hunter Pursuit
While the Gunship provided a great big set with lots of neat bricks and figures, and the Jedi Starfighter was pretty cool, this set just reeks of originality. Anakin's Speeder turned out to be an amazingly well-crafted set, with lots of interesting pieces in new and unusual colors and a nice little trunk to boot. Zam's came with a great battle-damage feature, a nifty "shape shifting" head for our bounty hunter, and lots of green bricks. While not awe-inspiring, it shows that LEGO can do a lot with a little.
