While his vast array of accessories do require some fiddling to get right, nobody did it better in 2002. Jango Fett's interchangeable hands and huge array of accessories are a first for a new character in the Star Wars 12" range, showing that Hasbro has seen what's going on elsewhere in large scale action figures and has decided to apply some of that to one of its most valuable licenses. It's gorgeous, and shows that this line is capable of so much more than we've been expecting over the past few years.
Runner Up: Count Dooku
A veteran of film deserves respect, and Christopher Lee was treated with great care during his transition to plastic. Being one of the first Star Wars figures to have the new "Gung Ho Grip," which allows his fingers to move, he can point, gesture, and duel with the best of them. His outfit is perfect for his scale, not being too bulky or too flimsy. His cape hangs well, and his face sports a remarkable likeness of the actor. In short, Dooku was a real treat for Sith fans everywhere.
