Commentary: So just how much do you love Admiral Ackbar? If the answer is lots, like me, you should probably go get yourself a Meena Tills figure. Sure, he may only have eight points of articulation with everything below his waist being a single piece-- but dammit, he's a lobster man in a dresss. That has to count for something. The Mon Calamari species has had decent toy representation over the years with a fourth member coming in late 2008, so fans of alien races take note. This senator has webbed hands, one of which is sculpted to grasp a nifty blaster. With his arms sculpted at right angles, there's little room for arm movement-- you can swivel his elbows, and twist his wrists. Even though he has the shoulder articulation we all crave, the only "action" this figure is really capable of is gesturing. Thankfully, his garment has extensive deco and loads of sculpting detail right in the plastic, because otherwise this might be a boring release. Well, if you aren't a collector, it basically is boring-- there's no way this figure can stand. If you like to populate your dioramas and shelves with cool looking figures, this is it. If you want something that's super-articulated and can pilot an X-wing, keep moving, there's nothing to see here. This is a fun figure that I am glad to own, but it certainly pales in comparison to many of Hasbro's other efforts.
Collector's Notes: Two variants of Meena exist. One has a cream or white colored skin (shown) and the other is a pinkish salmon color. The cream one is much harder to get and for a while commander a premium over the later release. ( MORE IMAGES )
