Commentary: Kids love Clones, even if we don't know where they really come from. Commander Appo was mentioned in the Revenge of the Sith script and even had some dialogue, but here's the thing-- he didn't wear this shoulder pad. If anything, he should just look like a regular Tactical Ops/501st Trooper. This outfit looks more similar to troopers who appeared in the various comics, like Commander Bow, a figure which has a kama that the character in the comics didn't. Confused yet?
Appo is a great figure. Based on the popular super-articulated Clone body, Hasbro painted it in 501st colors with battle-damage and the added shoulder pad, but the antenna was dropped. Right now, this figure is the closest you can get to an individually packaged super-articulated 501st Trooper, as the final fate of the Saga Legends one remains to be revealed. With 14 points of articulation and a great paint job, this is a figure well worth owning even if it's technically Expanded Universe and that isn't your thing. It looks great, and is well worth picking up.
Collector's Notes: As of yet, Appo has never been reissued and there are no plans for a reissue-- but a Saga Legends Trooper based on this squad would be pretty close. Get one if you see it!
