In the late 1990's, Del Rey, publishers of the first Expanded Universe novels from 1978 to 1983, re-took the reigns of Star Wars publishing from Bantam-Spectra, holder of the book license since 1991.  Del Rey took the franchise in new directions, from the New Jedi Order to the Clone Wars, as well as a sprinkling of original trilogy-based tales and several non-fiction offerings.  Now comes news that Del Rey will continue to churn out quality fiction, as well as non-fiction 'Guides', 'Art of...', and 'Making of...' books, until 2008.
