Hasbro Announces Jedi Points Program

Hasbro announced today at their 2:30 PM EST press conference in San Diego that previously released exclusives Jorg Sacul, Toy Fair Vader and TRU Silver R2-D2 will be offered as a redemption for the Jedi Master Points program. In case you don't know, Jedi Master Points are the UPC tags that are on every Hasbro Star Wars product that you buy. Different toys have varying amount of points. Hasbro plans to have some type of online auction in place in cooperation with eBay to allow collectors to bid on figures with  Jedi Master Points. Hasbro also announced plans for themed figure assortments and the return of deluxe figures.

Wave 1 will contain a Luke Hoth figure and a deluxe Wampa . These figures will have connecting bases so you can recreate the infamous cave scene.

Wave 2 will feature the other SAGA Luke Jedi figure and other Tatooine-themed pieces to be announced.

Wave 3 will be a Yavin themed assortment with Fan Choice winner Captain Antilles and Fan Choice loser General Dodonna. 

Wave 4 will be a Jabba's Palace assortment with a VERY deluxe Jabba the Hutt figure with dais. Pictures of the new Jabba the Hutt will be shown in Star Wars Insider #71.

Wave 5 will be a Star Destroyer theme with a newly sculpted Dengar with backpack.

It was also announced that Wal-Mart will not be carrying the currently hard to find Clone Wars multipacks.

Hasbro will be [i]officially[/i] showing the second Imperial Dignitary figure at Wizard World in Chicago.
