Commentary: Head swap time! This Mace Windu is a "just different enough to make you mad" figure, like all the Jedi in his Battle Pack. The figure's body is from the 2002 Geonosian Rescue figure, with the head coming from the 2002 Deluxe figure. The end result is pretty good-- the "screaming" head has been replaced by a slightly less insane looking one, and the body essentially retails all of the same articulation and gimmicks as the original. Mace Windu has a decent amount of articulation, but his button-activated lightsaber swinging gets in the way of this. The deco and sculpt are perfectly acceptable, but it's worth noting his lower Jedi robes prevent the figure from sitting in any meaningful way.

In order for his slashing attack to function properly, you need to insert the lightsaber hilt under his right wrist, in a small slot. This allows him to fling his arm around without losing his weapon, as the hand was not sculpted for optimal gripping. There's a magnet in his palm, which is nice, but largely weak. If you want to "use the Force" to attract a lightsaber to it, it more or less works, but it's not going to impress anybody like some other figures' magic metallic mechanisms. In short, this is a fun figure for kids-- collectors may not be excited by it as it doesn't have the screaming head of the original, but then again, maybe that's precisely why collectors will want it. Snag it if you so choose, it ain't bad!

Collector's Notes: The Battle Pack was designed as a cheap way for kids to get a bunch of figures quickly, and as such, collectors didn't go crazy for it. If you want it, it's not going to cost you much.
