Bio: A capable but arrogant officer, Moff Jerjerrod commanded the second Death Star during its construction. His first priority was to complete the powerful superlaser, which was used to destroy several key Rebel cruisers and nearly turned the tide of the battle. He perished when Rebel ships managed to detonate the space station's reactor core. (Taken from the figure's cardback.)

Commentary: The fine line between "significant character" and "set dressing" is one fans can't draw-- we're just not very objective. As such, a lot of fans were surprised it took Hasbro nearly 23 years to make a figure of Moff Jerjerrod, while a lot of other fans were surprised Hasbro cranked out yet another British guy in a grey shirt with a hat. And what's more, this was the second one in 2006, with the first having the added benefit of removable armor. As Jerjerrod was never named in the movie-- and basically had nothing to do other than stand around looking scared-- it's a wonder he got a figure at all. At least Darth Vader got to choke some of the other guys. This figure game out as part of an extremely strong Return of the Jedi wave which also included Hasbro's best C-3PO to date, a stunning Chief Chirpa, a delightful Death Star Gunner, and an Emperor I could do without. Still, this was a figure with some strong peers, and as such it's good to see that this figure is about on par with his companions. This articulation is essentially the basic six points with added wrists and cut elbows, which gives him just enough movement to gesture around and look mean. The head of this figure is a little weird, most notably in the eyebrows. It doesn't look a whole heck of a lot like the actor, but the face does look mighty angry. As such, it more or less works.

As Imperials go, he's about par for the course-- really no better or worse than the many other figures Hasbro has produced of white old men in grey uniforms. The figure could have benefitted from leg articulation that wasn't hampered from his skirt, but let's face it-- all he's going to do is stand. Hasbro was wise to put their additional tooling dollars elsewhere.

Collector's Notes: The figure has never been rereleased, but many parts from him were used to create many future Imperial Officer figures, notably those in the Death Star Briefing set which would hit in late 2006. Jerjerrod was a real turkey in some markets, and it's still possible to find him sitting in isolated pockets out in the wilds of retail.
