Bio: Lyn Me was a Twi'lek dancing girl. She performed with the Max Rebo Band while they played Jabba's Palace. (Stolen from Wookieepedia.)

Commentary: While most people initially had identified Lyn Me as the vaguely Asian-looking Twi'lek dancing girl, the figure seems to hold a more... shall we say Lewinsky-esque quality I can't quite put my finger on. The figure's skin is a bluish white, and according to some interviews I've seen with the actress, it seems she should be slightly bluer. But when it comes to color on Star Wars, there's many a debate over who is what color, so let's just say for the sake of argument that this one is pretty close. For a figure from 1998, she turned out fairly well. While it isn't a dead ringer for the character in the movie, the coloring and costume are certainly close enough to be good-- and let's face it, this isn't a character that's begging for a new sculpt. With six points of articulation, she is what she is-- a neat alien whose main purpose is to fill out a diorama. The articulation is acceptable, the pose fitting, and the sculpture could best be called good enough. The figure's head could use a little work (either deco or sculpting), but once you get past that she's pretty decent. Granted, the figure doesn't have the detail of today's selections, but I'd by lying if I said she was terrible, or fantastic. At 10 years old, the figure is starting to show signs of aging but it's not like you're going to see another version of Lyn Me any time soon.

Collector's Notes: So far, this figure has been released twice. The first release (shown) was part of a 3-pack with Greeata and Rystall, two other dancers from this sequence. The set sold fairly well but appeared in the big blowouts of 2000 for five or ten bucks, and can still be found on some online stores for roughly that price-- a fantastic deal for the figures. Late least year, Wal-Mart had the trio brought back with two more figures at the asking price of $25. Overall, the original release is a much better deal, and fans should take care not to pay a premium for this release. [ MORE IMAGES ]
