Commentary: One of the weird things that this hobby has raised was a question like "So what does Hammerhead really look like anyway?" Is he the 1979 vintage figure? Is he the 1996 Kenner figure? Is he something else entirely? Because few clear shots of the outfit were known to most fans (and sculptors), each new toy of this alien tends to look a little bit different. Gentle Giant's new bust doesn't seem to have the little knot around the neck that this figure and Hasbro's 2006 action figure sport, plus this figure's outfit seems a little bit too bright compared to his skin. It's still cute though, with big eyes much like Roron Corrob had, and not little beedy eyes like we saw on any incarnation of Momaw Nadon. What this figure lacks in authenticity, it brings big in personality. It's a cute, non-articulated alien figure based on a fan-favorite alien from a great movie. Seeing that Hasbro made a toddler toy of a mondo-obscure character makes this figure worth buying, if you can appreciate it in that weird "this shouldn't exist" sort of way. It's not going to wow you with its accuracy, but it's cute, small, and is right at home on top of a computer monitor. I like it because it's weird, but I can't really find a reason why your action figure (or high-end) collector should buy it that doesn't involve the phrase "awww, isn't he pwecious?" So yeah, take it as you will.

Collector's Notes: In late 2007, a version with slightly different decoration was released as a Wal-Mart exclusive in their Cantina Cinema Scene sets.
