Bio: A cold and unforgiving Geonosian, Sun Fac is present as Poggle the Lesser presides over Anakin's and Padmés trial. The two are found guilty of treason and sentenced to death in the Geonosian execution arena. Little does this Geonosian and his brethren know that they're in for a rude awakening once the execution begins. (Taken from the figure's cardback.)

Image: Adam Pawlus' toy room. The version in the picture came from the Delta Squad boxed set.

Commentary: Kids love bugs-- right? Apparently not. A few of the alien baddies from the prequels cranked out by Hasbro in 2006 didn't do too well, and Sun Fac was one of the unluckiest. The sad thing is that this is truly one of Hasbro's finest releases. Even though he had a decent role in the Republic Commando video game and was Poggle the Lesser's main man, fans didn't jump on this figure. He's super-articulated, too-- this is practically unheard of for reed-thin aliens out of Hasbro. The articulation alone is enough to warrant the purchase of this figure, as he has a swivel waist, swivel hips, and ball-jointed everything else. Hasbro gave this figure loads of detail and brought it out by painting the figure with extra browns and reds, ensuring that you don't miss out on the hard sculpting work that went into this release. Unlike previous Geonosians, this one isn't naked-- Hasbro gave him a nice costume taken straight from the film. Sun Fac even has the damaged eye that the alien sported in the movie, and it seems that virtually no detail was missed. The only real improvement that could be done is a slightly better grade of plastic, as the figure may sag over time, and possibly in the deco department. It's great, and loaded with detail, but you can only do so much on a budget for a $6.99 figure. I could see Hasbro improving this one slightly if they ever did it again, which probably won't happen as some stores still have this figure in stock nearly two years later.

Collector's Notes: In addition to being released on a regular card in 2006, the figure was repackaged with the Delta Squad Republic Commando boxed set which features two more Geonosians and four Republic Commando figures. Sun Fac is essentially identical between the releases, as his Sonic Blaster is placed with another figure in the set. If you collect loose figures, the only real reason to get the individually carded one is for the display base.
