Commentary: When it comes to the easy money, Hasbro is well aware of the fact that including one or more unique Clone Trooper action figures in an exclusive will boost sales. While a Star Corps Clone Trooper was made in 2005, this version uses a different mold entirely. The Evolutions mold featured a pauldron that was on the opposite shoulder, a removable helmet, and a different body mold. This figure takes the 2005 Clone Commander mold, gives it a regular Clone's helmet, and paints the whole thing up to look like a Star Corps clone. The end results? Nice. A figure devoid of damage or dirt, this nifty figure includes a silver "Evolutions" style rifle and matching pistols, and is about as close as you can get to super-articulated. There's no waist to speak of, and the legs are blocked by the kama/skirt piece. Still, it looks cool and as you need a decent squad of these troopers to take out the Jedi traitor Aayla Secura, you should probably pick up the boxed set in which this figure appears. (This set is also still fairly cheap-- you can get it for the original price or less.)

Collector's Notes: There have been mutliple releases of the "Star Corps" Clone Trooper, and each one is just different enough to make you want to get them all to build your squad. Two of this exact figure come in the Betrayal on Felucia set along with Commander Bly (still with incorrect coloring), Aayla Secura, and another Star Corps trooper based on the Evolutions mold, but without the dirt and damage. The Evolutions Clone Trooper from 2005 was the first-ever trooper from this squad, and has a slightly browner coloration as well as lots of nifty dirt and blast markings. If you're a fiend for the troopers, this is a figure worth tracking down. And I'm not just saying that because the removable helmet one has a hard time keeping the helmet in place. (OK, maybe I am.)
