Bio: Tusken Raiders are fierce desert savages that keep to themselves, and are a terrifying presence to the colonists that live on Tatooine. Swathed from head to toe in rags and robes, Tusken Raiders brandish their bladed clubs called gaderffii sticks with menacing skill. Also known as Sand People, these aggressive nomads dwell in the rocky Jundland Wastes of Tatooine and ride single file on banthas to conceal their numbers. (Taken from the figure's box.)

Commentary: So is it a figure, or an accessory? We're going to go with figure for this Tusken Raider Child, which was recolored for Toys "R" Us as part of an exclusive Battle Pack. Featuring a whole family in red, this exciting set was thrilling... if you like the idea of owning variant desert nomad clans, and I do. With three points of articulation, there isn't much to the little guy. He can move his arms, and that's about it. There's not much incentive to army build a Tusken preschool, but the figure is a nice addition to any desert display. The deco for the exclusive version is much grittier than previous releases, with tons of filth on the costume and a golden/bronzen helmet. It's a sharp concept, and an overall decent looking figure. I wouldn't say that the boxed set in which he comes is a stellar value, but if you're collecting them all you could do a lot worse than this little guy. I have no doubt we'll show you these worse figures in the next few days, so just stay tuned for that. While you're waiting, know that this little figure is barely over an inch tall and cannot hold any accessories, although you can store him in the Tusken Female's pouch. To date, every little Tusken figure has been packaged together with a Tusken female in some capacity.

Collector's Notes: The red versions comes exclusively in the Battle Pack-- so far, anyway. The set also includes a red Tusken sniper, a Tusken, based on the Vintage mold, and a Tusken female as well as a Bantha. It's a recolor of a 2002 Tusken Toddler, which is identical in the Battle Pack (tan version) and on the individual card.
