Summary: Four new two-packs from the original Star Wars. Includes Wedge & TIE Pilot, Greedo & Han Solo, Sandtrooper & Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Stormtrooper & Luke Stormtrooper. Han Solo is a "rerun," but has a new copyright date on his foot. All others are, in theory, new sculpts.

Commentary: As a wave, this is pretty strong-- lots of new characters, and some repacks of old, better figures. (For the record, the case also ships with Chewbacca & C-3PO, Anakin & Count Dooku, Luke & R2-D2, and the Speederbike & Scout Trooper.

These three figures are the only ones in the wave with any articulation. Both Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi have their right arms articulated. Greedo has an articulated neck, so he's unique in the line in that he can actually look where he's aiming his gun. The sculpts on these are great, as always, but take special note of Greedo. His dark vest, pearly green jumpsuit, and purple eyes have all been expertly recreated for the under-4 set.

The TIE Pilot and Sandtrooper have no articulation. What you see is what you get-- which is good, as this TIE Pilot looks better than some of Hasbro's full-size efforts. The shiny grey lenses look really awesome, and the buttons on the chest console are exactly what they need to be-- mostly black and white with a tiny splash of color. The Sandtrooper, while cool, isn't nearly as good because he's missing the "stripe" on his helmet above his lenses. Of course, he's not a bad figure-- the backpack is well done, and the gun looks really great. Other than that, he's essentially a souped-up Stormtrooper.

These guys have removable helmets-- obviously. Luke and Han have very snug helmets which, like the Sandtrooper, lack the stripe. (But on the packaging, it shows the stripe.) Luke's slicked-down hair from the trash compactor is a unique touch, as is Han's eternally smug expression. Wedge is really unique in that he has a removable helmet with such fantastic detail in a figure so small.

It's a great added play feature, but will most fans care? Probably, as soon as they realize that the helmets on Luke and Han seem to cause their hair paint to rub off if you aren't careful. Also, you can see a bit of their faces peeking out from under their helmets-- at this size, it's not too much of a problem, but I have no doubt someone will be sending someone somewhere an angry email about this before the week is over.

Collector's Notes: At this time, there's really nothing notable to report about these figures other than you might already have the Han Solo.
