For those who absolutely must have 70mm, good news. StarWars.com shared that Star Wars (1977) and Star Wars: Starfighter Debut in IMAX 70mm in 2027. And depending on your local film house, Akira - yes, that Akira - may be showing there this very week in IMAX 4K.  It looks a little funky in spots but it's definitely the biggest I've ever seen it.But what do you do for 2027?   Depending on your local theater situation, the screen may be better than the seats or legroom. When it comes to Star Wars be sure to consult your local multiplex for what works best for you if you're the kind of person who wants nice recliners instead of cramped quarters.

Star Wars will be hitting theaters on February 19, with Starfighter on May 28.   Given how unusual some of the upscaled words and finer details were in Akira, I might just go with the standard screens or DOLBY.  Also availability, I assume the first weekend will be an absolute zoo for tickets and then we'll find out how many old Star Wars fans are dragging their family to see it again.
