Throughout last year and this year until a particular point i heard of a POTF Cinema Scene entitled "Jabba's Palace Aliens" including Amanaman, Ephant Mon, & Hermie Odle. What happened to this 3 pack?

My answer from 1999 With commentary from 2025:

The set never actually existed as far as I know. Basically, it ended up being the most popularly reprinted rumor, spanning website after website, magazine after magazine. It's possible such an item could happen, but obviously it wasn't ready for 1999.

This set never came to be, and we never heard Hasbro actually had prototyped it. Maybe they did! But I don't remember seeing it.

We did eventually get those figures. Amanaman would come out in summer 2001 for Power of the Jedi, Ephant Mon would be a hard-to-find figure in fall 2002, and Hermi Odle made it out around summer 2007. Interestingly, none of those characters have ever had a rerelease or a revised figure made later. To this day, fans talk about how much they like them all.

Way back in the 1990s, getting new figures of previously unmade characters was a pretty hot topic. And I guess it still is, as we don't get very many unless you want to count video game repaints. I just got a Carson Teva a couple weeks ago and I'm still happy. It's so unusual that there isn't some sort of "well, technically it's new, but I have this character with a different helmet" or something.

In 2025 there aren't any regular requests coming in for Return of the Jedi aliens in The Vintage Collection. I can name a few that I'd like to see, like Wam Lufba or Geezum, but people out there aren't exactly clamoring for anything specific. If there's anything consistent, it's that people ask for more of their particular favorite focus - maybe it's Prequels, maybe it's Cantina - but there aren't a heck of a lot of specifics.

I think the last new alien character we added to Jabba's Palace was a Nikto, but we've had a couple of do-overs and some humans. As I'm keen on saying, it's been a pretty good run. We haven't had a new EV-9D9 since 1997, and that figure was very much based on the 1985 release. A new one might be good.
