According to StarWars.com, the source of and likely reason for this headline, Star Wars Insider to Launch Final Issue in 2026.   Magazines are still available in big box stores and grocery stores, but the selection has been decreasing every year and if you want fun sci-fi, game, or comic-related things you probably have to go to a major book chain.

For those of you who might be post-internet, back in the 1990s the magazine also featured the Jawa Trader section which was one of few places you could go buy Star Wars merch until things really bounced back in the latter half of the decade.  Before that, it was the Lucasfilm Fan Club Magazine, and before that, it was Bantha Tracks in the 1970s and 1980s until Star Wars basically took a nap around 1987.

In the 1990s it felt like you could get a magazine for almost anything.  There were multiple competing action figure collecting magazines.  Star Wars Galaxy (later Star Wars Galaxy Collector) was published my Topps as a secondary fan magazine, often bundled with comics and cards with more focus on the stuff you could buy.   It's really amazing when you consider how much focus there was on these movies in an era where very little was happening - that's just how much demand and excitement there was for the revival.
