eBay Auction Confirms New Y-Wing in Vintage Return of the Jedi Box

Update: A round, silver embossed Toys R Us exclusive sticker can be seen in one of the auction images.

A new Y-Wing Fighter has been confirmed by eBay, or at least, a convincing packaging mock-up has surfaced in Australia.  Following the Kmart exclusive B-Wing Fighter, it seems this is a tweaked version of the 1983 toy yet again, with some important upgrades. If you squint, it looks like an R2-D2 figure (and not just the dome) may be in the astromech socket-- this is the first time since 1983 that Hasbro left the hole for your choice of droids.  The vehicle is in a reddish color, much like the 1978 Die-Cast metal Y-Wing toy from Kenner.  Also, the packaging replicates the Kenner box down to Bespin Lando and Nien Nunb, the latter of which being the 1997 release, with the recent Admiral Ackbar in the cockpit.

It looks like a solid release, and will most likely be announced officially at this year's Comic-Con International in July.  Unless, of course, it hits stores first as a few recent exclusives have done.   Pricing on the final piece (and its home) are unknown, but given its size and the recent raise in cost of materials, don't be stunned if it's $40-$50.  Check out the auction for more details.
