By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, May 28, 2013

Why yes, the original Star Wars will be making an appearance on the big screen this year! In case you missed it: the original 1977 movie is getting dubbed into the Navajo language!   From one of the articles: "The movie, "Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope," will be the first major motion picture to be translated into the Navajo language, and actors lined up to read the roles of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker in the American Indian language."

There's more!

"A cast of 20 Navajo voice actors and actresses working with the [Navajo Nation Museum] will be doing the dubbing. 'The actual recording of the Diné dub of 'Star Wars' is taking place in New Mexico -- right in the heart of the largest population of Navajo speakers,' Epcar told [The Wrap], explaining how the studio work came his way."

The dub is presently slated for a July 4, 2013 release date in Window Rock, AZ.
