The new ToysRUs exclusive Big Millennium Falcon in vintage packaging was brought out for display in the Hasbro booth and it looks huge as it should and amazingly fantastic.
There was much anticipation for Hasbro's panel on Friday to find out what was in store for 2013 and they offered some surprises. The Vintage Collection will be put on a hiatus and The Legacy Collection Droid Factory will be re-introduced beginning next year with over 30 figures planned. A few exclusives were also revealed with one particular online retailer figure exclusive that was undoubtedly one of the surprise announcements of the day. The other surprise was news that there will be no Hasbro exclusive for Celebration VI next month.
New carded and loose images of Vintage Wave 7 have been posted at Sandtroopers.com featuring the new Royal Guard with an alternate Crimson Empire head and armor.
Hasbro didn't reveal much during Preview Night that we already haven't covered at Toy Fair, but there are a couple of new Movie Heroes figures, one being a refangled VOTC Boba Fett. There are lots and lots of Fighter Pods and their HasbroToyShop exclusives were so HUGE this year that people brought handcarts to haul that SHIELD Helicarrier, which along with the Carbonite Chamber set, probably won't last through Sunday if past big sized exclusives like the Death Star and Galactus are any indication.
The German site StarWars-Figuren.com has posted some boxed photos of the upcoming ToysRUs exclusive R.O.T.J. AT-AT. The specially Vintage Collection packaged re-issue of the 2010 ESB Hoth AT-AT looks to also include an Endor Speeder Bike for this version.
Are these the droids you're looking for? One certainly is. We're eternal fans of the galaxy's motorized domestic help, and Hasbro recreates Kenner's classic packaging once again for this Target exclusive, which like the original, faithfully includes modern versions of R5-D4, a Death Star Droid, and an all new Power Droid…GONK!
The Target exclusive Vintage Collection Special Action Figure Sets make a return this summer with their gloriously recreated Kenner packaging. And while previous sets were mostly style over substance, the latest two include all new figures which ups the desirability and open them factor. This second Villain Set includes an all new nicely sculpted and detailed Snaggletooth that you'll definitely want to add to your collection of boozin alien barflies.
Thanks to some timely reporting by Jedi Temple Archives, we were able to score the new Target exclusive Vintage Collection 3 Packs featuring a Villain Set with a Tusken Raider, Boba Fett, and Snaggletooth and a Droid Set packed with R5-D4, Death Star Droid, and an all new Power Droid.
Amazon has restocked with figures from The Vintage Collection Wave 5 that includes Grand Moff Tarkin, Shae Vizla, Nikto Guard, and Odd Ball. Darth Malgus is also back in stock for $12.99 each and FREE Super Saver Shipping!
We typically like our variants with some point of interest or backstory to them, and while the red bandana Kithaba isn't by any stretch of the imagination a vinyl caped Jawa, the fact that Hasbro changed up to better match the actual character and vintage version is interestingly cool.
Hasbro has released additional information and copy for the Comic-Con exclusive Vintage Special Edition Carbonite Chamber Collector's Pack along with a price of $69.99 each.
Just as your wallet takes a breather from the summer convention exclusive buying frenzy, Rebelscum has unloaded a fantastic report on some upcoming ToysRUs exclusives coming to you this fall.
We can blame Canada for this cool carded variant of VC20 Yoda. The Jedi Master is packaged in a Return of the Jedi cardback with the iconic photo that was featured in the original Kenner release instead of the more correct, and dare we say not as iconic, Revenge of the Sith card that was distributed here domestically.
Hasbro did right by that ROTJ Vader card. Presenting some really hi-res images for your close scrutiny and inspection of the upcoming Vintage Collection Wave 6 featuring the "Lost Line" alternate cardbacks and some carded shots of the Shock Trooper, Sandtrooper, and Darth Vader in their regular retro black and chrome Kenner cardbacks. Enjoy!
