One of the dangers for holding back product announcements for one or two times a year is that leaks are pretty likely-- especially when a "leak" is a full release of the product in another country! MouseDroid.com reports that Toys R Us Australia already has the Y-Wing Fighter for AUS$69.99. Hasbro has still yet to confirm this item for a US release, but odds are the USA will be seeing it in July or August.
He's new! It's Bom Vimdin which is apparently the current official spelling of this guy, who's a really cool Cantina alien that Hasbro absolutely smashed out of the park. Good things come to those who wait... 34 years. Read on!
Over at Sandtroopers.com is a Y-Wing Fighter gallery of an as-of-yet unannounced vehicle which is, clearly, an upcoming Toys R Us exclusive. Painted up similarly to the red-striped 1970s die-cast metal vehicle, this retooled vehicle has a redesigned interior plus the first-ever modern era astromech socket. Check it out!
Hasbro's wildly popular Wave 7 of The Vintage Collection is shipping to (and from) online stores like Entertainment Earth and Big Bad Toy Store today, so if you pre-ordered, check your order status. (They should be hitting stores shortly.) Last week @EntEarth on Twitter (which is me) confirmed wave 8 and wave 8 revision 1 of TVC have been delayed until October, but pre-orders are open now.
You thought that all you had to do was to track down one of the presently extremely scarce just-released Wedge Antilles figures? Well, you're wrong. Hasbro now has a package variant to be on the watch for, and you can read more about Hasbro salting your wounds at Yakface.com for the full story.
Update: A round, silver embossed Toys R Us exclusive sticker can be seen in one of the auction images.
A new Y-Wing Fighter has been confirmed by eBay, or at least, a convincing packaging mock-up has surfaced in Australia. Following the Kmart exclusive B-Wing Fighter, it seems this is a tweaked version of the 1983 toy yet again, with some important upgrades.
After a few delays, the first (and hopefully not only) case featuring Wedge Antilles and Yoda has been posted to Entertainment Earth. It's a Wave 3 revision, so it also sports the Gamorrean Guard, Jedi Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, and other really awesome figures from last year. Pre-orders are open now and, as always, we'll have more information as it becomes available. For now this is the only known case with Wedge.
Toy Fair is a fun time of year, and it looks like we get to open a few of our presents early. A new wave of The Vintage Collection is known to us because a packaged sample of Luke Skywalker (Dagobah Pilot) has been making the rounds. New figures include Lando Calrissian (General), Clone Trooper, AT-RT Driver, Fi-Ek Sirch, and a new Weequay.
The wonderful people at JediNews.co.uk have a picture of the front and back of the Yoda figure from The Vintage Collection Wave 5. Originally slated for Wave 3 on a Return of the Jedi cardback, Hasbro has reworked the package to include a Revenge of the Sith logo and photograph-- and it definitely looks a lot cooler.
