Another cold, wintery Toy Fair is behind us, and while we understand the reasons behind having it in New York in February, there has to be some workaround where we aren't under a blizzard warning every year and don't have to explain to our spouses or significant others why Valentine's Day for a toy geek actually falls the next Saturday after Toy Fair. But we digress.
(NEW YORK, NY) LEGO held their annual Toy Fair media event this year and unveiled some great new sets slated for release this fall. The larger sets this year include an all-new Millennium Falcon and Republic Frigate. Fans of The Clone Wars mini-series can now also collect the first ever Savage Opress mini figure that is included with the new Sith Nightspeeder.

A few awesome sets are slated for the fall including a Sith Nightspeeder with Savage Opress minifig, Republic Frigate, and Millennium Falcon. Guests were also given a limited edition LEGO Star Wars miniland boxed set of Han Solo and Chewbacca. These figures are the actual design and scale that will be displayed in the forthcoming LEGOLAND attraction.
Have you heard all those rumors that Star Wars is floundering as a toy line? All lies. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that in 2010-- a non-movie, non-major release year, that our favorite space brand brought in a whopping $510,000,000. This includes both Hasbro and LEGO products.
For the first time ever, LEGOLAND California will feature a Star Wars themed area that will be located in miniland this coming March! With over 2,000 LEGO models, the miniland will follow a chronological path through the Star Wars timeline – Episodes I – VI plus Clone Wars will all be there! Individual film scenes were selected by a panel of LEGO, LEGOLAND and Lucasfilm experts. The miniland will have over 1.5 million LEGO bricks, weigh more than 1.3 tons and took over 13 months to develop and build.

LEGO presented in grand style and for a good cause at Celebration V in Orlando, where fans created an awesome Star Wars LEGO mural. For every tile that a fan places on the mural, LEGO donates 330 bricks to St. Jude Children's hospital.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, LEGO Systems, Inc. and Lucasfilm Ltd. are summoning the force of LEGO® and STAR WARS fans and families to participate in a three-day collaborative build of an eight-foot tall, 15-foot wide LEGO mystery mural to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The mural will be constructed by attendees of Star Wars Celebration V and a LEGO Master Builder at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center from August 13-15.
