FOTD is going on break after this week, but we've still got Clone Commander Neyo and one more figure to go! He's not perfect, but it's a superior update for the character and as an added bonus, he included some TV Clone Wars detailing on his face. Even more surprising, Hasbro retooled the back of his armor to look distinctive and different from the other Clones. Read on!
Andrew's Toys has posted images for Saga Legends Darth Maul and Snowtrooper figures on Facebook. These will join previously announced Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker and another Clone Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi figure, previously announced by Hasbro. No date is known for these two, but since we have packaged shots I'd bank on "soon." Click here to see them.
Sith happens! Aside from a brief mention in Revenge of the Sith, the design, character, and general sense of Darth Plagueis can be described as being very very dark in his costuming and quite well constructed. Is he important? Well, that's up to you. Read on!
A re-retool, the new The Black Series Mace Windu takes the 30th Anniversary/Vintage Collection figure body, give him new arms and a new head, and presto - improved figure! The wrist movement is about perfect, and I dig the new elements a lot. Read on!
NEW! And old. Mission Series Han Solo is a pretty good toy, although you may not be crazy about him as a collectible. Hasbro mercifully dropped the dangling separate holster, which allows this figure to actually sit in your Millennium Falcon without much of a problem. Even though Chewie is kind of gnarly, get this set if you can. Read on!
Happy New Year! Let's look at the new R2-D2 that comes with C-3PO in the latest wave of Mission Series 2-packs that you can lie to yourself and say you're "skipping" when you probably haven't seen them for sale yet. This astromech droid is based on the R4-P44 Saga Legends mold, with far fewer paint applications. He's cute, but in all seriousness, he needs at least one or two more painted panels. Read on!
New deco and new arms! Obi-Wan Kenobi has been given a "realistic" figure based on his later Clone Wars appearances for Mission Series. He comes with the Darth Maul we looked at last week, and is arguably a better figure than his predecessor. Read on!
We had a glimpse at the packaging, but now we can see StarWars.com's preview of the Star Wars Rebels Inquisitor Action Figure. The early painted sample seems to have filled in the lines on his face with paint, so I assume the final may appear slightly different. The style is not quite movie and not quite animated, but it does include a lightsaber similar to the spinning one concocted by Hasbro for Generat Grievous a few years ago. It also has 5 points of articulation. Click here to see more!
Here is the Section Saga Legends. Your bonus points is 4. Let's try the Section Mission Series!
Darth Maul gets a pretty dang good figure - it's not what you've expected from The Black Series, but it's a delightful mutant figure that feels like it belongs in your 1984 toy box with other Jabba thugs! It's wonderful. He has 5 points of articulation and a lightsaber, but my guess is most of you won't like him. Me? I love it. Read on!
NEW! This Clone Commander Cody is a Saga Legends release you may see in stores soon, or you'll need to order it online. His backpack is removable, and his antenna is bent - but you can fix it. Read on!
Hey hey, it's the first-ever, brand-new, movie-style Captain Rex! This Saga Legends figure is pretty new and I haven't seen it in stores yet - it's good, I think you'll like it. The deco ain't bad and the holsters work, so I'm pretty pleased with this one. Read on!
