Hasbro

Preview: Titanium Returns

By Mike — Thursday, January 26, 2012

After an over 2 year hiatus, the Titanium Die-Cast Vehicle Series returns in the form of 3 packs and priced at a steeper premium for $29.96 per set at Wal-mart (where our samples were found this evening). That's a $3 increase for each vehicle from the 2009 $6.99 MSRP

All nine vehicles in this first wave were previously released with no distinguishable variances in deco.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,725

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, January 24, 2012

It's the new Battle Droid!  It's a new sculpt-- he now has sculpted eyes and a little more detail.  It's a nice improvement over the previous one... but it's not quite as cheap.  Read on!

2012 Big Vehicle: MTT?

By Mike — Tuesday, January 24, 2012

I guess there will be a home for those new folding Battle Droids after all. There's always a level of suspense around Toy Fair time on what the next BMF Vehicle will be. Our friends at Jedi Temple Archives have a lead that it will be none other than the Episode I MTT (Multi Troop Transport)!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,724

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, January 23, 2012

Image Bank: VC78 Battle Droid

By Mike — Monday, January 23, 2012

Comparing the new Vintage Collection Battle Droid to the first versions from 1999 is almost like comparing a Vintage Kenner Stormtrooper with a modern super-articulated version. They're just worlds of sculpt, design, and engineering apart.

Image Bank: VC77 Ratts Tyerell & Pit Droid

By Mike — Saturday, January 21, 2012

Ratts Tyerell was originally supposed to be included as a 2 pack with BD11 Clegg Holdfast but was held back to be released in 2012 as part of The Vintage Collection. The date stamp on the figure even indicates 2009. How does he hold up over 2 years later? Hasbro executed a decent design and sculpt albeit we would have liked to have seen the "screaming" face instead of a calmer, grinning Ratts. The included Pit Droid has a nice new deco and is a re-used mold from the Bonus Pit Droids packed in place of Commtech Chips that were only released in Asia for The Episode I Collection.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,723

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, January 20, 2012

This Battle Droid has a new sculpt and a big (small) vehicle.  So there's two good reasons to buy it, right?  Read on!

Image Bank: VC81 Ben Quadinaros & Otoga-222

By Mike — Friday, January 20, 2012

Presenting the Susan Lucci of the Fan's Choice Polls. Always the bridesmaid never the bride and all that stuff. Ben Quadinaros finally gets plasticized and in good style as a figure with good sculpt and likeness to the character and a workmanlike 12 points of articulation. He's packed with an Otoga-222 pit droid that was originally included with the 1999 Ody Mandrell figure. With the upcoming release of Mawhonic, the circle of pod racers are complete.
