Figure of the Day

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,200: Flametrooper (The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, September 23, 2015

The regular Flametrooper is pretty much the same one in the Armor Up version and the Amazon boxed set (that just got delayed) save for accessories.  It's sort of like a Clone Commando, but  a little different.  Should you army build this one?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,199: R4-M9 (Droid Factory)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 22, 2015

This is new!  No, really!   This R4-M9 is new for 2015 and is on sale right now at a Disney park near you as part of a four-pack that is ultimately worth getting.  (And it was $29.95 when I got mine - a real bargain!)  He comes with R5-X3, R2-Q2, and a new R0 droid.  And yes, we'll be looking at them all soon.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,198: First Order Stormtrooper (Armor Up - The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, September 21, 2015

Getting the same figure with a new accessory is nothing really new, but it seems to be more frequent than ever.  When it comes to troop builders like the First Order Stormtrooper (Armor Up) figure, it's less of a problem - everybody wants more Stormtroopers, and the accessory does make your figure look a lot different.   Granted, it costs about twice as much as a regular Stormtrooper and that's where the problems are.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,197: Kylo Ren (Armor Up - The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, September 18, 2015

Hey wait a minute - they changed the sculpt?  Whoa!  Hasbro's Kylo Ren (Armor Up) costs more, but you get a new head, a new left arm, new legs, and a dusting of snow at his feet.  It also costs nearly twice as much due to the strange armor.   Is it worth the extra expense?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,196: Ezra Bridger (The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 17, 2015

Today we look at Ezra Bridger (The Force Awakens)!  It's new - sort of!  Unlike the previous releases, this one has his unique lightsaber and a shield mortar thing.  If you only get one Ezra, this is the one you want.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,195: Constable Zuvio (The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, September 16, 2015

Meet Constable Zuvio - sort of.  We don't know anything about him really.  He has a hat, and some nifty scuffing on his armor.  Also a gun.   That is all.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,194: Darth Vader (The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 15, 2015

There are a lot of exciting new characters in Hasbro's The Force Awakens toy line, and Darth Vader is not one of them.  It's a figure you may have bought, but it has a new droid sidekick - and that's interesting.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,193: Reistance Trooper (Space, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, September 14, 2015

Today in Figure of the Day, Reistance Trooper!  We don't know much about him yet, but we know he has a neat helmet and can sit in vehicles. Also, we assume it's a him.   It could just be a clever disguise.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,192: Poe Dameron (Pilot / Space, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, September 11, 2015

In his pilot outfit, this Poe Dameron figure includes what basically amounts to wings - he's not bad! The helmet isn't removable, but he has a holster for his blaster.  It's not a bad one.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,191: Rey (Snow, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, September 10, 2015

And now we look at Rey (last name withheld) because we can.  This is the single-carded figure that comes with the gun kickboard.   How did she turn out?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,190: Finn (Desert, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, September 9, 2015

While most figures are sold out in my neck of the woods, if you're lucky enough to stumble on new The Force Awakens action figures you're likely to find Finn.  He's one of the new major players in the movie, and like the rest we really don't know all that much about why he's there or what he's going to be doing.  It's a decent looking action figure, though.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,189: First Order Stormtrooper (Snow/Giant Rifle, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, September 8, 2015

The first First Order Stormtrooper has a big gun - other versions are coming, but the figures are generally the same.  This one comes with a giant Nerf-like gun, and I quite like it.   Will you?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,188: First Order TIE Fighter Pilot (Space, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, September 7, 2015

The First Order TIE Fighter Pilot looks a heck of a lot like the Imperial TIE Fighter Pilot - same basic colors, same basic layout.  It's less bulky, though, and other differences make this one an interesting take on the figure we've all crammed in vehicles since the first one in 1982.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,187: Luke Skywalker (Bespin / Jungle, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, September 6, 2015

They can't all be winners, but this figure is crucial if you want to assemble the Jungle cluster of "Combine Weapons."   The Luke Skywalker (Bespin / Jungle, The Force Awakens) is a perfectly nice figure, but a) you probably own it, and b) the backpack isn't enough to make the new, added backpack hole very interesting.  It may also amuse you to know that the backpack has more joints than the action figure.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,186: Captain Phasma (Buzzsaw, The Force Awakens)

By Adam Pawlus — Saturday, September 5, 2015

While same figure/different weapons are popping up, so far there's only one 3 3/4-inch Captain Phasma.   There's also a 6-inch one - but that's hard to find so far.  She's tall, she's silver, but - surprisingly - only her chest is painted. The limbs and head are molded in a silvery plastic.  Read on!
