Figure of the Day

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,440: Rey (The Black Series 6-Inch, Premium Exclusive)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, December 25, 2017

Available at a Toys R Us near you, this  Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,440: Rey (The Black Series 6-Inch, Premium Exclusive) is a wee bit more expensive than will likely make you happy.  She has a planet-specific base that isn't quite true to the movie scenes, but there are die-cast metal accessories and more bruising.  You get a lot of stuff in a nicely-sized box, but is it worth tracking down?   Eh.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,439: General Leia Organa (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, December 20, 2017

This is a good one.  The General Leia Organa (The Last Jedi Line Look)  has a good head sculpt and a nice paint job, a great improvement over the (let's say) distinctive eyebrows from the last movie's 3 3/4-inch Leia.  Should you get one?  Yes.  But still, read on.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,438: Luke Skywalker (The Black Series 6-Inch, Premium Exclusive)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, December 18, 2017

If you've been to Target you probably saw the Luke Skywalker (The Black Series 6-Inch, Premium Exclusive).  It's good - but it's $10 more than the regular one for a stand, a metal hand, and some cloth parts.  Is it worth the upcharge, or rebuy?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,437: BB-9E (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, December 15, 2017

I saw The Last Jedi last night, but I wrote the review of BB-9E (Droid Factory Line Look)  a couple of weeks ago so as to avoid spoilers for you all.  It's a nice figure!  It looks good!  And yes, this is the Disney one - we'll look at Hasbro's shortly.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,436: BB-4 (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, December 13, 2017

Disney's exclusive BB-4 (Droid Factory Line Look)  gives us a glimpse at the new movie that opens tomorrow.  So soon?  Yes.   Anyway, what's his deal? I don't really know yet, but I look forward to finding out.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,435: Luke Skywalker (Jedi Exile, The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, December 11, 2017

This is the week you've been waiting for!   The Last Jedi debuts in just a couple of days, and Luke Skywalker (Jedi Exile) is in stores now, possibly.  You'll hear Luke Skywalker speak for the first time in 34 years, so what could possibly be on his mind?  Hopefully he won't be complaining about this new action figure, as it's pretty great.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,434: Emperor Palpatine (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, December 8, 2017

While single carded samples of Emperor Palpatine (The Last Jedi Line Look)  have surfaced, right now you can only get him in the set at Target - and it's a winner.  While the robes prevent seating, it's a stunning design with great swappable hands and above-par sculpting.  I hope you got one.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,433: Luke Skywalker (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Exclusive to Target, this Luke Skywalker (The Last Jedi Line Look) is another new sculpt - the head is good, the colors aren't bad, and he has wrist joints.  Color me surprised!  It's sold with a new Emperor and Royal Guard, so the set is a winner.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,431: Jyn Erso (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, December 1, 2017

Until The Last Jedi comes out, we're doing 3 Figure of the Days per week!  This is Jyn Erso from the 2018 line - she has a sound chip!  But she doesn't have the rocket launcher.  She's very similar to last year's figure, but there are differences.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,430: R2-D2 (The Last Jedi Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, November 29, 2017

Check out R2-D2 (The Last Jedi Line Look)!  It's a build-a-droid mold, with a sound chip, and some new rockets.  It's a pretty cool figure for the asking price - I haven't seen one in stores yet, but you may find them online.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,429: Luke Skywalker (The Black Series, 6-Inch, Centerpiece)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 27, 2017

It's sort of a statue, it's kind of an action figure, and it might be on markdown at your local big box store right now - despite having been released in September.  The Luke Skywalker (The Black Series, 6-Inch, Centerpiece) has interchangable base parts in addition to a fantastic sculpt with exceptional paintwork.  Should you buy one?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,428: Shoretrooper Captain (Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, November 22, 2017

There aren't many toys of the Shoretrooper Captain (Rogue One Line Look)  available in the USA - he's got a lot of blue and is packed with Bistan.  Is it worth getting this cool trooper and his space monkey pal?  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,427: Bistan (Rogue One Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 20, 2017

Better late than never - and Bistan was pretty close to "never."   I'm really happy Bistan got out as a special thing, as everybody deserves a cool new alien space monkey action figure with a new Stormtrooper.   Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,425: BB-8 (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 13, 2017

One good droid deserves another - the BB-8 (Droid Factory Line Look) is a newish mold!   He's bigger than Hasbro's, but the deco is different - not better, not worse.  Neither seems truly superior, but this one is bigger and a little bit more adorable thanks to the eye seeming to have more life in it.  Read on!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 2,424: 2BB-2 (Droid Factory Line Look)

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, November 8, 2017

Not from Hasbro!  Disney's 2BB-2 (Droid Factory Line Look) is pretty slick and, for some reason, have the lettering backward.  Go figure.  It's a neat robot that looks kind of like a globe of Earth.  Read on!
