Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,930

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, November 6, 2012

Ahhh this is a good one.  Thanks to my pal Shannon for helping me to get the Black R6 Series Astromech Droid, one of my favorites from the new Droid Factory at Disney Hollywood Studios Orlando.  Is it worth tracking down?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,929

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, November 5, 2012

Here's an interesting one which shares a name with a popular menu item at a place like going for lunch.  Shu Mai is a bright, colorful figure with excellent detail, limited articulation, and she's part of a pretty decent gift set that's actually pretty cheap these days.

Video Review: Weequay Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 2, 2012

OK, so who do we got going on tonight?  Looks like Weequay, a remake of a figure which has been, historically, one of the best.  Kenner did an awesome one in 1983, and another great one in 1997.  The 2012 Vintage Collection release is pretty swell, too.  You'll want to see this one up close... or just watch the video after the jump.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,928

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, November 2, 2012

Did you find the last Clone Wars figure of 2012 yet?  It came out a few months ago.  It's a weak year.  Commander Fox is basically a redeco mishmash of other figures, and the deco ain't perfect.  It's neat, though.  The toy arguably looks better than the TV show design.  Oh, and there's a video too.

Video Review: Nien Nunb Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, November 1, 2012

Let's look at another new Vintage action figure - but be warned, I hear they're starting to sell out and it hasn't even been a week since they hit! Today it's the updated Nien Nunb, which is a new version of the 1983 and 1997 figures, both of which were exceptional in their days and are still quite good. Now he has a blaster based on the boxy 1980s version, plus a 1997-esque rifle and 14 points of articulation. I love it. I assume you will too. Watch the video after the break!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,927

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, November 1, 2012

The early animated Clone Wars figures are superb, underrated gems of the collectible toy world.  They're more statues than action figures, but are cheap and pretty gorgeous.  And my stats say you won't read about General Grievous or the other figures in this line... why not?  Don't you like nice things?  You really ought to check these out.

Video Review: Lumat Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Oh yes, it's Lumat!  More than just a Graak repaint, this figure is a redeco of the new Logray body with some swell new additions.  It's an online exclusive, plus one of the last remakes of unmade 1980s action figures.  Should you care?  I do, this is one of my favorite Ewoks of the year... and we got a bunch in 2012.  Watch the video after the jump!

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,926

By Adam Pawlus — Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Since Hasbro gave us the "Who's Who" of Attack of the Clones when the movie first hit, by 2010, it was time to move on to "Who's That?"  Nicanas Tassu is the Jedi who tosses a couple of lightsabers to our heroes, and then is pretty easy to ignore after that.  Is a new head on a Mace Windu body worth a look?

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,925

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 30, 2012

The delayed (twice, actually) Nom Anor came out a few months ago, allowing us to cross another "announced but not released" action figure off the list.  He's ugly... really ugly.  The Yuuzhan Vong figure comes with a giant staff, a decent cloak, and some snap-on armor pieces.  Is it worth your while?

Video Review: Republic Trooper Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Tuesday, October 30, 2012

It's time to look at the Republic Trooper from Hasbro's Star Wars: The Vintage Collection 2012 Wave 7!  This one comes from the MMO The Old Republic, which you could be playing right now.  But you're not, you're reading this... but why read, when you can watch a short video review?  It's only a minute and change, so check it out after the jump.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,924

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, October 29, 2012

Check out this awesome figure!  The Red R2-Series Astromech Droid is, like, super-red.  Almost orange, that's how red it is.  You can only get it at Star Tours in Orlando... or perhaps eBay, and let me tell you it's arguably worth it.  Want to know more?  Read on!

Video Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Monday, October 29, 2012

Let's look at Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars: The Vintage Collection Wave 7!  He's from the new internet-only wave, which i the last batch of figures on this packging for a little while. The sculpt is great, the articulation is top-notch, and the figure is effectively a really slick "realistic" interpretation of the 2008 animated figure... but with more articulation.  Watch the full review, after the jump!

Video Review: Ahsoka Tano Star Wars The Vintage Collection Action Figure

By Adam Pawlus — Sunday, October 28, 2012

So how about another video review?  2012 Wave 7, the online exclusive batch of action figures, has started shipping and if you preordered them you probably already have them.  Today we're going to do a video review of Ahsoka, a realistic interpretation of the character in her season 3 costume.  It's pretty good.  I think you'll like it, so watch it after the jump.  If you don't, we know where you work, and we'll find you.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,923

By Adam Pawlus — Friday, October 26, 2012

The second-ever commando to get a carded release, this animated The Clone Wars edition of Republic Commando Boss is really a nice toy and an unfortunate reminder that he's got a few brothers that haven't yet been rendered in plastic.  There's an awesome, clever backpack accessory and the figure's chunky build is really quite excellent.

Star Wars Figure of the Day: Day 1,922

By Adam Pawlus — Thursday, October 25, 2012

Our friend Sebulba  is a fine example of everything good and bad with the figures this year.  A redeco of a very good mold from 10 years ago, he's never looked better.  He's also an exclusive, who came out late, who's the only Sebulba of the year, and doesn't fit in the Sebulba Pod Racer vehicle which came out months earlier.  Ah well!  At least he's a good figure on his own, right?  Find out!
