Since 2009, fans have asked "So when will Hasbro release the other scanning crew guy and the rest of the equipment?" Teased at Toy Fair, not one but two stories are showing off this soon-to-be-released if not out before you know it Imperial Scanning Crew from Hasbro. Two sets are coming, and you'll need to buy both to get all the troopers at Kmart in the very near future.
Our fine sponsors (from whom you should order stuff) at Entertainment Earth posted the third round of previews of The Black Series Greedo 6-Inch Star Wars action figure. This particular installment reveals more renderings of the figure, with the final reveal of the actual toy just a few days away at this point.
Ja, das haben die Ewoks so gerne! Starwars-Figuren.com has shots of the Kmart-exclusive Ewok Assault Catapult set that was alluded to back at Toy Fair but not seen until, well, now. It has 2 new Ewok figures in a vintage-style box with a catapult accessory and appears to be official Hasbro photography.
Week 2 of The Black Series Greedo Reveal over at Entertainment Earth shows some pretty amazing stuff, like digital turnaround preliminary "sculpts" of the figure as well as a horrifying eyeless look at the original mask. Some truly spectacular reference shots of his blaster as well as several notes from the people who make our toys are on display, which is the kind of stuff I would like to see for many more figures if Hasbro is willing to share.
It's not Star Wars, but shares the same Kenner DNA. Super7 is rolling out their new ReAction Alien action figure assortment that's based on the cancelled line from 1979 in eloquent style for SDCC. There are four exclusives altogether and two are FREE!
The word is out, and now you can get behind-the-scenes pictures of the new Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Greedo 6-Inch Action Figure at Entertainment Earth! Click here to see it all.
Hasbro will be offering the exclusive Black Series Boba Fett and Han Carbonite at Celebration 2 Europe. The set will also be offered this summer as a Hasbro Comic-Con exclusive.
Memorial Day weekend was full of bounty at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California as new swag has shipped and arrived in their Star Traders store. Of particular interest to collectors would be the new Star Tours sets and Mickey’s Jedi Starfighter. But these aren’t the only pieces that caught our eye.
Standing a whopping 31-inches tall, Darth Vader is quite possibly the largest Star Wars action figure ever and certainly the best when it comes to getting the most toy-by-the-inch-for-the-money. Estimated to come in at Entertainment Earth in May, like probably any day at this rate, the figure is similar to Jakks Pacific's other jumbo figures like the red Power Ranger or Man of Steel Superman, possibly at a store near you. In other words if you need a giant display piece, this is probably the toy of the year. Click here for pricing and availability.
The ToysRUs exclusive The Vintage Collection Endor AT-AT came in a few weeks early, and it couldn't have arrived soon enough with the current doldrum and lack of new Hasbro product we're experiencing in stores.
Yakface.com has the scoop - the missing Return of the Jedi edition The Vintage Collection AT-AT is hitting Toys R Us! The vehicle has slightly different deco with Endor mud and a unique AT-AT Driver action figure which is the only one ever made to feature black gloves.
Customizer and maker Kid Ink Industries posted a bunch of custom Star Wars figures at the RockfordArtDeli shop. Three "RAD" droids (Roaming Assistance Droids) in unique colors were shown with absolutely gorgeous packaging that's even more retro than the real Kenner boxes. A Sandtrooper with some skeletons is up as well, plus some other troopers and surprises.
At last! After nearly a year in waiting, Droid Factory has finally launched at Star Traders in Disneyland Anaheim! MouseWait has the photo confirmation and big thanks to Yakface.com for the heads up!
A few years ago, a bunch of steampunk-influenced Star Wars action figures made the rounds online from Sillof's Workshop before you started to see gears, brass, monocles, and buckles on everything. His latest creation was commissioned by the great Patton Oswalt (whose extended double album 222 and EP The Pennsylvania Macaroni Company may be two of comedy's finest achievements). What is it? Russ Meyer. As in Faster, Empire! Strike! Strike! Action Figures. Maybe you've seen Darla Vade and Stormy Go Go. Want to see Lando, as a woman, with an afro? Of course you do. See her after the jump.
Thanks to a tip from our pal and friend to all collectors Chuck, we now know that Downtown Disney's Once Upon a Toy Hasbro store now has the Droid Factory set up. This means you don't have to pay to get into Disney Hollywood Studios, as Once Upon a Toy has no admission fee. From the pictures it looks like it's a much better set-up filled with bins on four sides (rather than just one) and best of all, you won't have to shell out $100 to get into the theme park to waste 2 hours of high-quality ride time to attempt to collect them all.
